The Tuning Server Performance in Graphic Systems Resource Directory

Measuring the performance of a server is a complicated task because no standard procedure exists for deriving a benchmark for file and print service.A benchmark is a quantifiable measure of the performance of a computer or computerrelated product, used for comparison with the performance of similar products. Opinions abound as to what constitutes good server performance. This chapter describes the two methods considered by Apple Computer to arrive at a benchmark for the Apple Workgroup Server 95, the method chosen, and the reasons for that choice.
